Christmas time in United Kingdom in a lots of aspects hasn’t differences in comparison with another lands. In United Kingdom Nativity Plays or services of carols are practice too. Britishers at December 24th eat Christmas meals, although typical food is different than in other lands. But the interesting fact can be Candlelight Service in which the church is lit up only by candles. In the United Kindom many Britisher go to the church where is religious service at 12 a.m. after Christmas Eve.

Time of looking forward to Santa

In United Kingdom kids also look forward to Father Christmas. At the end of the Christmas Eve children prepare sockes or pillow-cases by the fire or children’s beds. They know that Santa put on presents in those items, not under Christmas tree like think children from other countries. Often children in UK are very caring – they leave mince pies and brandy for Father Christmas as a food and as a drink when he come to them. The Queen’s Christmas Message

Every year, at second day of Holidays Britishers watch Speech of the Queen. The idea of a Christmas message has its beginning before current Queen came to the throne. The Queen’s Christmas Message was a key element in the development of the BBC on beginning of activity. The first speech was in 1932 and it was given by King George V. Elizabeth II in her messages says about current issues of UK and other lands and says about her approach. It’s good summary of events of the year and plans for the future. The Queen’s Christmas Message is important point of every Christmas.

Every lands have their Christmas customs. The United Kingdom isn’t the exception in that topic, although a lots of Christmas traditions are transfered from another countries.
